Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the FutureIQ portal at futureiq.in (“FutureIQ”, “the Service”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. The Service is operated by Navin Kabra (Pune, India) and is a searchable knowledge base and library for the @TheFutureIQ YouTube channel.
We collect as little as possible. We do not sell your data, we do not show advertising, and we do not use your Google or YouTube data for any purpose other than operating the features described below.
1. The information we access
1.1 Google account sign-in
When you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile via the
standard openid, email, and profile
scopes:
- Your name and profile picture (for display while you are signed in).
- Your email address (as a contact and account identifier).
- Your stable Google account identifier (the
subclaim), which we use to recognise you reliably across sign-ins even if your email changes.
1.2 YouTube read-only access
YouTube access is optional. If you choose subscriber verification, we
request a single, read-only YouTube scope,
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly, and use it for
exactly one check:
- Subscription confirmation. We call
subscriptions.listscoped to the FutureIQ channel (forChannelId=UC5rXulbRg9cUreZpS67U7Wg) to confirm whether you subscribe to @TheFutureIQ. This is what unlocks subscriber-only features.
We do not read your YouTube channel identity, your watch history, your other subscriptions, your private or unlisted videos, your playlists, your comments, or any other YouTube data. We never post, modify, or delete anything on your behalf. We do not request access to Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Gmail, or Calendar.
2. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- To decide your access level (public visitor or channel subscriber) and show you the appropriate sections of the library.
- To re-confirm your subscription roughly once every 24 hours so access stays current without making you sign in again each time.
- To keep security and audit records (for example, sign-in outcomes and access changes) so we can protect the Service against abuse.
3. Google API Services Limited Use disclosure
FutureIQ’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features described in this policy.
- We do not transfer or sell this data to third parties, except as strictly necessary to operate the Service, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
- We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it except where you have given consent, where it is necessary for security or to comply with law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymised.
4. What we store, and for how long
- Account record: your Google
sub, email, display name, and your current access level. Kept while your account is active. - An optional YouTube refresh token: stored encrypted at rest only when you choose subscriber verification, and used only to re-check your subscription status without prompting you to sign in again. We retain it while your portal account is active and delete it when we process your account-deletion request. Revoking access in your Google account invalidates the token; at the next re-check, subscriber access fails closed.
- Sessions: a random session identifier is stored as a secure, http-only cookie; we keep only a hashed copy on our side. Portal sessions do not automatically expire, but can be ended by signing out, deleting the account, clearing browser data, or administrative revocation. Subscriber eligibility is still re-checked roughly every 24 hours.
- Audit and security logs: contain event type, outcome, time, and limited operational details. They are retained for security and troubleshooting and are removed or anonymised when an account-deletion request is processed, except where retention is required for security or legal reasons.
5. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the Service (for example, our hosting provider) and with Google as part of the sign-in flow. We may disclose information if required by law.
6. Your choices and control
- Revoke access at any time from your Google account permissions. We stop being able to check your subscription, and access falls back to the public level.
- Sign out to end your session on this device.
- Delete your account and data: email navin@futureiq.in and we will delete your account record and refresh token. A self-service deletion control is being added.
7. Security
We serve the Service exclusively over HTTPS, store tokens encrypted at rest, keep secrets outside our source code, and restrict who can access the underlying systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to minimise what we hold in the first place.
8. Children
FutureIQ is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
10. Contact
