Reference Frame Dependence
Reference frame dependence is the error of evaluating a system in units it was not designed to hold constant. Apparent drift can be evidence of stability in another coordinate frame.
Diwali moves every year—if you look at a Gregorian calendar. Inside the Hindu calendar, it does not move at all: it remains attached to a particular lunar tithi.

The two calendars track different coordinates. A Gregorian date locates an event within a civil system organized around the solar year; a lunar tithi locates it within the Moon’s cycle. Holding the tithi fixed therefore does not hold the Gregorian date fixed. The apparent inconsistency comes from observing one system through the units of another.
The reusable model is simple: before deciding that something has shifted, identify the variable the system actually preserves. This is the core of Reference Frame Mismatch: stability and movement are not properties of an event alone, but of the event relative to a chosen frame.

Changing the reference frame can reconcile two descriptions only when each is measuring the same event with different coordinates. It cannot excuse a rule that is unstable even in its own stated units.
Name what is held constant
When a recurring date or rule appears to drift, write down both coordinates and ask which one the system promises to preserve. For Diwali, compare Gregorian date with lunar tithi before calling the observance movable.
